NYC Bouzouki School operates nycbouzoukischool.com. This policy describes information handled through our website, lesson enquiries, bookings, student access and email subscriptions. For privacy questions, contact contact@nycbouzoukischool.com. Our public location is Queens, New York.

Information you provide

When you request the free guides and newsletter, you provide an email address and choose an English or Greek signup. Enquiries may include your name, contact details, playing experience and message. Bookings and student access involve contact details, the lessons or events selected, appointment records and account information. Please provide only information relevant to your request. Parents or guardians should contact the school before submitting information about a child.

How information is used

We use enquiries to respond and discuss lessons. Booking and account information helps administer lessons, events, payments and student access. A guides-and-newsletter signup is used to deliver the free materials and send NYC Bouzouki School practice tips, school news and lesson or event updates. We also use technical information to operate the site, protect forms and accounts, and investigate errors or abuse.

Free guides and newsletter

The signup offer includes the free guides and the NYC Bouzouki School newsletter. The buying guide is currently an English PDF. The following resource email includes the three-course and four-course fretboard charts and further reading. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email. You can also contact the school about your subscription. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not cancel a booking or necessarily stop messages needed to administer a lesson, event or payment.

Services that handle information

Our WordPress website is hosted by Hostinger and uses Brizy and Fluent Forms for site content and forms. MailerLite manages email subscriptions and email delivery. Amelia manages website bookings and student access; online lesson booking is configured to offer Stripe payments. Wordfence provides website security. Google reCAPTCHA is used on form-related pages for spam protection. These services can handle information needed for their role. A payment provider may collect payment and transaction details directly; refer to the provider shown in the payment form and its own privacy notice.

Cookies, language and embedded content

Website features and third-party tools can use cookies or similar technologies for login, booking or checkout, language preferences and spam protection. TranslatePress provides English and Greek language support; automatic machine translation is currently disabled. Our site also displays or links to content from services such as Instagram and YouTube. An external service may receive technical information when its content loads or a link is opened. Its own privacy policy applies to that service. Browser cookie controls can limit cookies, although some website functions may then stop working.

Subscription activity and technical records

MailerLite can record subscription status and email activity, including delivery, unsubscribe, open and click information. Email measurements can be incomplete, for example when an email app blocks or automatically loads images. Hosting and security services can process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and page requests. The tools and settings used on the site may change; this notice will be reviewed when the school changes how information is handled.

Storage and requests

Storage periods depend on the record, its purpose and the service that holds it. A newsletter unsubscribe does not automatically erase booking, payment, enquiry or security records. Contact the school to ask what information is held about you, request correction or request deletion. Identity verification and any limits on a request depend on the records involved and applicable law. Some records may need to be retained for legal, accounting or security reasons. We do not promise an automatic deletion schedule in this notice.

External providers and updates

Service providers may process information in locations outside New York or outside the country where you live. Their privacy notices explain their own practices. We may update this school policy when our services or practices change. The date shown on the approved policy identifies its latest update.
